Should Jon Have Stopped the Jon & Kate Plus 8 Show?

Jon has stopped TLC from filming his children.  Is this in the best interest of the children like he claims?  A lot of people believe that Jon and Kate have been exploiting their children for money, and that Jon’s decision is a good one.   Some would even go as far as to say that they should not have ever even had a show to begin with, and that it has been damaging to the children.Seriously, how are two people with middle class incomes going to be able to take care of eight children, let alone six of them the same age?  Babies are expensive, and they were premature with some medical problems.  TLC was the best thing that could have happened to this family!   With TLC and the fans that followed the Jon and Kate Plus Eight Show, all of their lives became easier.  The family did not have to worry about enough money to feed and clothe the children.  The children could have parents that stayed home with them, and not be raised by babysitters.  Without that money they would not be able to have anything to call their own.  The children would not have nice clothing, and they would not have nice toys.  They would have to live in a crammed very tiny house or apartment, with no room to run about.

They would not have been able to go anywhere, an average middle class car or minivan would not have even held the lot of them safely enough.

Who knows what the future would have held for them?  If any of them suffered from any serious medical ailment, they would not have had the money to take care of this.   At a possible equally worse scenario, with the economy the way it is; what if either parent lost their job?  They would either be on welfare, or worse social services would have stepped into this family and taken the kids and separated them.

As for the exploitation part, the children are not working!  There are no scripts that they have to worry about, nor do they have to practice acting.  They are just being themselves, just playing, and just being filmed.  Not much different from parents showing off home videos.   The fact is, that these children are being less exploited than say… child actors (that is if you believe that child actors are being exploited).

Yes the downside is the paparazzi.  This is a major downfall of putting yourself in the lime light.  When outweighing the benefits that have been given to the family and the children, this is a small price to pay.  Actors too, have to face the paparazzi.  If you deem the paparazzi is damaging to these children, then we must rid the world of all child actors.

As for Jon stopping the show, all of these years he has banked on these shows.  He would not be able to look as good as he does, so that he can go out and get “all da chicks”.  He would not be able to even separate from Kate, as their finances wouldn’t allow for an extra place to live, or travel expenses.  Look at all of the families where couples want to divorce, but finances make that impossible.

Jon was perfectly fine with banking off of the show for all of these years, but now that he doesn’t want people watching his every move and judging him (so he can be free to do what he wants without worrying about someone “tisking” his bad behavior), he thinks it is in the” best interest for the children” to stop the show.  If allowed to continue with the show, these children could still make money to travel the world, and possibly be set for life.  Have the best private schools, and get into the best of colleges and pay for them without going into debt.   But all because of their dad, they might not get that chance.  Stopping this show will not stop the Paparazzi, that damage is already done.  The paparazzi will be there for a long time.

As for as the show putting those children in danger by way of psycho perverts, yes the damage has already been done.   The family can afford security guards…FOR NOW.  If they cannot do the shows, they may not be able to afford the security they need in order to keep the children safe from predators.

So in conclusion, all I can say is;  Jon.. You’re an idiot!!!
